Pauline D. Williams, 91, formerly of 7 Heritage Dr. and for many years at Fremont Street, died Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Sullivan County Health Care after a long illness. She was born in Newport, NH on June 17, 1917 the daughter of Paul and Rose (Lemare) Dutilley and had resided in Claremont most of her life. She was highly respected and loved member for 63 years of Court Virgil H. Barber #892 Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Pauline was renowned for her generous nature, tireless energy, sense of humor and love of family. She will be dearly missed. She worked in the shoe department of Montgomery-Ward and later at the food counter of JJ Newberry’s. Pauline was pre-deceased by her husband, Leo A. Williams on May 17, 1983 and one daughter, Betty. She is survived by her daughter, Joan Smith and her husband, Larry of Pawleys Island, SC; two sons, Paul Williams and his wife, Betsy of Alexandria, VA and Ted Williams and his wife, Karen of Claremont; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, George Dutilley of Claremont; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, February 17th at 1:30 PM in the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont with Rev. Father Stanley J. Piwowar, officiating. Interment will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 prior to the services.
