Ralph Joseph “Paul” Ferland, 73, formerly of Marion Phillips and Denison Ave., died Tuesday, December 22, 2009 peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Sullivan County Health Care in Unity, NH. He was born in Unity the son of Herve and Rose Marie (Maurice) Ferland on May 18, 1936. He previously lived in Unity from 1969 to 1982 then they moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for five years and then returned to Enfield. He was a US Army veteran having served from 1955-1958. Ralph spent the majority of his years working as a carpenter. He and his wife owned and operated R & Y Ferland’s Pallet Company in Enfield for fifteen years and his last job was in maintenance at the Lebanon Airport. Ralph’s passion was restoring automobiles. He was the widower of Yvonne M. (Davis) Ferland who died February 26, 2008. The surviving family includes four sons, Wayne Ferland and his wife Kim of Lancaster, PA, Leonard Ferland of Claremont, Paul Ferland of Unity and Herve Ferland and fiancée Rebecca Welch of Lempster; four daughters, Tina LaCourse and her late husband Ray of Manchester, Rose Aremburg and her husband Eric, Cindy McClelland and her husband Gregg and Sherri Beaudry all of Unity; fifteen grandchildren, Alex Ferland, Tracey Levesque, Jason Warner, Norma Blanchard, Jenna Aremburg, Ashley McClelland, Alicia McClelland, Amanda McClelland, Charles Bunten, Terra Bunten, Joanne Bunten, Chris Bunten, Michael Ferland, Rebecca Ferland and Christopher Ferland; ten great-grandchildren, Zachorie Ferland, Biaggio Levesque, Alexys Levesque, Raegan Blanchard, Autumn Blanchard, Brianna Bunten, Naomi Wilkins, Adler Bunten, Jonathan Ariola and Christian Bunten; three brothers, Roger Ferland and his wife Madeline of Lempster, Norman Ferland and his wife Rita of Unity and Robert Ferland of Tahlequah, OK; three sisters, Theresa and Henry Lessard of Bristol, Germaine Cook and her companion Lyle Guynup of Unity and Mary Ferland of Claremont; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four brothers, Raymond, Louis, Noel and Maurice. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 26th at 2 p.m. at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont, NH with Rev. Scott Kearns Pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 1 to 2 pm prior to the service.
