Richard Brian Cornish, 67, of 243 Broad Street in Claremont, died Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester. He was born in Hartford, CT on January 10, 1942 the son of Floyd E. and Lillian M. (Lavoie) Cornish and had resided in Claremont all his life. Richard was a graduate of St Mary’s High School Class of 1960. He retired from Holson Burns Photo Album Company and had previously worked at the Sullivan County Nursing Home, Crescenti’s Market, Sturm Ruger and Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. He was a 47 year member of Father Cote Council No. 1820 Knights of Columbus and a communicant of St Mary’s Church. Richard loved his cat, Melanie and enjoyed BINGO and working with seniors. The surviving family includes three brothers, Floyd E. Cornish and his wife, Sandy of Rosswell, NM, Raymond A. Cornish and his wife, Shirley of Newport and Robert C. Cornish of Claremont; five sisters, Carol A. Hiltunen and her husband, Lee, Kathleen M. Derosier and her husband Robert, Eileen Thompson and her husband Nathan, Ellen St. Pierre and her husband John and Lynn M. Ferland and her husband, Dennis all of Claremont; one uncle, 18 nieces and nephews, 27 grand nieces and nephews and several cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, Oct. 2nd at Three O’clock in the Stringer Funeral Home with Rev. Father Stanley J. Piwowar, officiating. Interment will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Friday from 1 to 3, prior to the services. The family suggests that donations may be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice. |
