Rita Lacasse Scott, 82, a former long time resident of Claremont died Friday, December 18, 2009 at the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC. She was born in Worcester, MA on May 24, 1927 the daughter of Gideon and Anna (Simoneau) Lessard. She resided in Claremont for twenty years, in Palsley, FL for eight years and had recently made her home with her son in Sanford, NC. She had worked for the Green Mountain Sportswear Company for a short time while in Claremont. She was the widow of Bernard J. Lacasse who died February 14, 1991. The surviving family includes two sons, Ronald J. Lacasse and Robert R. Lacasse and his wife, Lorna; two daughters, Elaine Lacasse Nixon and her husband Billy and Janice Lacasse Davis; grandchildren, Michael A. Lacasse of Bangor, ME, Janet English and her husband Jon of Sanford, NC, Sandra Galindo and her husband Rafael of Humble, TX, Christopher Lacasse and his wife, Michelle of Holly Springs, NC, Cathy Wassenar and husband Bert, Bonnie Lacasse, Linda Nixon and Nicole Nixon of Oxford, MA, Laurie Davis and John Jr. of Blackstone, MA, ; great-grandchildren, Fernando, Kyle, Tyler English of Sanford, NC, Anthony, Ryan and Matthew Galindo of Humble, TX, Robert and Daniel Lacasse of Holly Springs, NC, Evangeline, Sarah and Bert Wassenar and Chase Nixon all of Oxford, MA, Alexandria, Makala, Nicholas, Calleigh Davis of Milford, MA, Gabrielle and Ethan Riley of Blackstone, MA; three sisters, Irene Bunnell, Theresa Berry, Cecila and Phillip Bedard and two brother, Norman Lessard and his wife, Claire and Henry Lessard and his wife Theresa. She had made her home in Palsley, FL with her companion, John Muir for the past eight years. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Robert Lessard and Maurice Lessard and three sisters, Claire Lessard, Alice Lessard and Simone Birmingham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning, December 28th at Eleven O’clock in St Mary’s Church in Claremont with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor officiating. Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Monday morning from nine to ten-thirty prior to going to church. |
