Victoria Josephine Bacher, 90, of Breck Avenue in Claremont, died Friday morning, January 2, 2009 at the Valley Regional Hospital.

She was a native and life long resident of Claremont, NH, born on May 30, 1918 the daughter of Wasil and Elizabeth (Belski) Bacher.

Victoria worked for New England Telephone as a telephone operator and retired in 1979 after 38 years of service.  She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

The surviving family includes five generations of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph Bacher in 1980, Edward J. Bacher in 1982 and Benjamin Bacher in 1986 and two sisters, Mary Baker in 1985 and Helen Lovejoy in 1988.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad St., Claremont on Monday evening from 6 to 8PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at eleven O’clock, in St. Joseph Church, Elm St., Claremont with Rev. Fr. George Majka, Pastor, officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
