Albert Carignan, 83, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2010. He was born on May 5, 1926 in Claremont, NH, the son of George and Lillian Filion Carignan. He resided in Claremont for 52 years where he was a highly valued employee of the Claremont Woolen Mill and Tambrands Co. After retirement he lived 13 years in Windsor VT before moving to Florida. The last several months of his life, he was lovingly cared for by his sister Arline Dion, a resident of Palmetto FL. He was preceded in death by his brothers Norman and John Carignan and sisters Marie Powell and Orietta Kaldy. Albert will be dearly missed by his three children, Albert G. Carignan of Croydon NH, Bonnie Blanchette of Shoreview MN, and Barbara Meier of Charlestown NH. He is also survived by four grandchildren and one great grandchild born on his birthday. Albert will be remembered as a quiet man who lived simply and appreciated his family and friends. He was an avid reader and loved to play the organ and harmonica. A memorial service will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Claremont NH on Monday April 5th at 11:00 AM with Rev. Fr. Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery and reception to follow at Masons on Maple Ave, Claremont. |
