Albert Louis Minckler Jr., 45, died unexpectedly, Tuesday evening, July 27, 2010 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.  He was born on December 10, 1964 in Greenfield, MA, the son of Albert L. Sr. and Shelia Rose (Sawyer) Minckler.  His parents moved to Claremont, NH when Albert was a baby.  He grew up and attended schools in Claremont graduating from Stevens High School in 1982.  When he was thirteen he started helping his Dad out at his auto part store, A & M Automotive by sweeping the floors.  As soon as he graduated high school he began working full time and has owned and operated the business for many years. 

Al flagged at the Star Speedway in Epping, Monadnock Speedway, and supervised the kids division at Claremont Speedway. Albert also worked the  Mount Washington Hill Climb for many years.  He enjoyed arm wrestling, camping at the Get Away Campground, listening to Aerosmith and spending time with family and friends.

He was a member of the Claremont Moose, the Elks Club and was a director of friendly family for the past ten years. 

Al’s favorite saying was “Pee Pee Nite Nite”. 

The family includes his wife Jean Marie (Austin) Minckler, whom he married on October 21, 1989, his Mother of Sebring, FL; four Brothers, Rodney Minckler of Anaconda, MT, Gregory Minckler of Dracut, MA, Kevin Minckler of Claremont, Kent Minckler, Sr., of Claremont; four Sisters, Sue Beers of Hancock, NH, Marlene O’dea of Winchendon, MA, Kathy Bairos of Ashburnham, MA, Heidi Minckler of Sebring, FL; one Uncle, Robert Minckler of MA; one Aunt, Marie Hartmann of Charlestown, NH; Father-In-Law, Charles “Sonny” Austin of Richmond, KY; Mother-In-Law, Shirley Remick of Charlestown, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by his father who died in 1995 and his beloved dog Fancy Jean Minckler in 2008.

Visiting hours will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home on Friday, July 30th from 6-8 PM. 

Funeral Services will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home on Saturday, morning July 31st at 11 AM. 

Everyone is invited to the family’s home for a reception after the funeral service to celebrate Al’s life.
