Alice A. Giguere, 87, of Madison Place in Claremont, died Thursday evening, May 20, 2010 at the Valley Regional Hospital.

She was a native and life long resident of Claremont born on January 25, 1923 the daughter of Dominick and Annie (Gleb) Asanowicz.

Alice was a graduate of Stevens High School in the class of 1941.

She worked as an office clerk, for many years, for Michaud Insurance Co. and retired in 1980 and had previously worked for Macintosh Insurance Co.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Claremont Senior Center.

She was the widow of Rudolph Giguere who died March 17, 1982.

The surviving family includes a step-son, Richard J. Giguere; a grand-daughter, Renee Anne; a long time companion, Norman Martin of Claremont; several nieces, nephews and cousins including Marilyn Dubois and Sandra Wirrell both of Claremont.

Alice was pre-deceased by an uncle, Michael Gleb;  two brothers, Harry and John Asanowicz  and three sisters, Mary Dubois, Mildred Desmarais and Josephine Coulombe.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Sunday evening from 6 to 7 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning, May 24th at Eleven O’clock in St Joseph Church.

Interment will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery.
