Annice Wilhelmine Finan, 94, formerly of Pine Hill Mobile Home Court, in Claremont, died Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the Sullivan County Health Care.

She was born in New York City, NY on Feb. 8, 1916 the daughter of Walter Scott and Mabel E. (O’Bannon) Bagnell.  She lived in Claremont from 1987 to 1994, six years in Lebanon and moved back to Claremont in Nov. 2000 and had previously lived in Marlboro, MA .

She worked with her mother in her beauty parlor and later as a clerk in various department stores.  She loved to play the piano and helped with volunteer work at the Chelsea, MA Soldiers Home.

She was the widow of Robert Edward Finan whom she married on Dec. 14, 1974 and he died Sept  26, 2006.

The surviving family includes,  one daughter, Mrs. Sidney (Rosalie C.) Arthurs of New York City, NY; three grandchildren; three step-daughters, Stephanie Dion of Union City, TN, Julie Sablock and Sharon Finan both of Claremont; eight step- grandchildren, and ten step-great grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was pre-deceased by one step-son, Robert Edward Finan, Jr., in 1969 and one step-grandson Daniel Wayne Sablock in 2000. 

Funeral services will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street on Tuesday, Sept. 21^st  at Four O’clock with Rev. Father Stanley J. Piwowar, officiating. 

Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon from 2 to 4 PM prior to the services.
