Carole Ann Bechok-Buzzell, 65, of East Washington Road in Hillsboro, died Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center after a lengthy illness and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Claremont, NH on November 23, 1944 the daughter of Peter and Priscilla (Hutchins) Bechok, Sr. She was a graduate of Charlestown High School in the Class of 1962. Carole was first employed by the Peoples National Bank in Claremont and then the Howard Bank in Burlington, VT. She moved back to the family cottage on Lake Sunapee in 1981 and began her employment with the State of NH at Mt. Sunapee State Park. She retired three years ago from the NH Division of Resources and Economic Development. Carole was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bradford. Over the years, Carole enjoyed hiking, camping, reading, gardening and family gatherings. She was a loving grandmother and was loved by her family and many friends. The surviving family includes her husband, Ronald Everett Buzzell of Hillsboro whom she married on Aug. 31, 1974; a step-son, Martin Buzzell of Claremont; a daughter-in-law, Susan Simpson and granddaughter, Ceara Buzzell both of New Gloucester, ME; one brother, Peter Bechok, Jr. and his wife, Brenda of Unity; three sisters, Elaine McAllister of Hopkinton, Catherine Lather and her husband, Mark of Brownsville, VT and Cynthia Hockett of Sarasota, FL also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a step son, Gary Buzzell, her father Peter in 1998 and her mother, Priscilla on Sept. 16, 2010. Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday morning, October 2nd at Eleven O’clock at the First Baptist Church in Bradford with Rev. Lynne Hubley, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Mt View Cemetery The family suggests that donations may be made in her memory to the First Baptist Church, Main Street, Bradford, NH 03221 or to the charity of ones choice. |
