Donald Francis Foisy, 89, of Bellevue Avenue, Claremont, NH died Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Naples Community Hospital in Naples, FL. He was a native and life-long resident of Claremont, born January 18, 1921 the son of Rosario and Lea (Lambert) Foisy. He wintered in Naples, FL. Don graduated from St Mary High School in the Class of 1939 where he lettered in baseball and basketball. He was employed at Coca Cola of Claremont for 10 years and was the owner of Don’s Market on Mulberry St. for 18 years. Don then worked as an investment broker for Lewis Securities, Burbank & Co. and A.G. Edwards & Sons for 35 years. He was a life- long communicant of St. Mary Church where he served as an usher and greeter, a retired member of Rotary International, a life member of Knights of Columbus No. 1820, a leader of Boy Scout Troop No. 38, a 56+ year member of Sunny Knoll Association, Georges Mills, Lake Sunapee and a former member of Circle 8 Square Dance Club. Don was an avid golfer and a member of the Claremont Country Club. He was the widower of Lorraine I. (Buskey) Foisy whom he married on October 31, 1942 and she passed away on March 19, 1998 after 55 years of marriage. The surviving family includes his wife, Lorraine (Cote) Foisy whom he married on July 14, 2001; a son, Ronald F. Foisy and his wife Andrea of Claremont; two daughters, Kathleen and her husband Gaylon O’Bryant of South Windsor, CT and Linda and her husband Marshall Audin of Arlington, MA; two granddaughters, Kelly (O’Bryant) Plunkett and her husband James of Monroe, CT and Karen (O’Bryant) Pineau and her husband Dustin of South Dennis, MA; four great grandchildren, Kevin Plunkett and Kayla Plunkett both of Monroe, CT and Jaryd Pineau and Jordyn Pineau both of South Dennis, MA; a step-son, Gregg Adamovich of Ascutney, VT; a step-daughter, Lisa Ray of Claremont; three step grandchildren Lori-Ann, Gregory and Kayla; two step great grandchildren Dylan and Kaden; a brother, Rev. Fr. Leonard Foisy of Manchester, NH and nieces, nephews and cousins. Don was predeceased by a brother, Raymond E. Foisy in December of 1997 and a sister, Irene Girard on January 19, 2004. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 30th at Eleven O’clock in St Mary’s Church with Rev. Fr. Louis Marie Dauphinais, officiating. Interment will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to Mass.
