Earnest K. “Peanut” Parrotte, Sr, 78, formerly of White Pine Court, Charlestown, NH, died Saturday morning, July 10, 2010 at Sullivan County Health Care. He was born in North Hero, VT on December 17, 1931, the son of Roy and Flora (Whitehead) Parrotte. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Army for three years. Mr. Parrotte was employed as General Manager of General Cigar-Culbro, in Simsbury, CT for 42 years retiring March 1, 1993. He was a life-time member of V.F.W. Metacomet Post#1926 of Simsbury, CT, a member of American Legion, Post #29 of Claremont, NH, honorary life member of the Simsbury Coon Club, Simsbury, CT and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Members of his surviving family include his wife, Betty (Pelkey) Parrotte of Charlestown whom he married on June 9, 1951; two daughters, Bonnie Quinlan of Heber Springs, AK and Lori Feron of North Granby, CT; five sons, Earnest, Jr. of Simsbury, CT, Landon and Brian of Charlestown, NH, Stewart of Suffield, CT and Denis of Tariffville, CT; seven grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; three sisters, Liculle Wilkins, Irene Lord and Arlene Boulerice, several nieces and nephews and his cat Patches. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was pre-deceased by his parents, five brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held later at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank all the staff, doctors, nurses and aides at the Sullivan County Health Care and Connecticut Valley Hospice Care for the kindness and care shown to my husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa.
