Edith M. Bell, 85, of Ashton Ave, Claremont, NH died Monday, October 18, 2010, At Valley Regional Hospital after a sudden illness.

She was born in Enfield, NH on November 6, 1924 the daughter of Herbert and Mary (Sullivan) Thornton.

Edith retired in 1987 from Dartmouth Woolen Mill after thirty years.

Edith was predeceased by her husband Morrill Bell in 1978 and by several brothers and sisters.
the family includes two sons, Roger Bell and his wife Katrina, Raymond Bell and his wife Janice.  seven Grandchildren Ricky and his wife Cindy, Dennis and his wife Shari, Ryan and his wife Christina, Deanne Bell, Tammy Morse and her husband Rick, Sherry Bell-LaRoche and her husband Ronald and Ginny Bell.  22 Great-grandchildren-Samantha, Megan, Ryan, Angel, Trista, Kayla Bell, Sarah, Rianna, Summer, Mariah, Meadow, Hunter, Brittney, Jason, Alec, Nikki, Christopher, Jaznele, Ashley, Ron Jr, Kayla Brown, and Joshua.  She also has 4 great-great grandchildren, a brother Charles Thornton of Fl and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Edith loved life and her family.  She enjoyed knitting, sewing, going to tag sales and going on trips to Old Orchard Beach, Me.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Friday evening, October 22^nd from 6 to 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, morning October 23^rd at 11 AM with Rev. Priscilla Hull, officiating.

Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
