Gordon Milton Wetherby, 84, of  Wetherby Road in Charlestown, NH died Friday, April 2, 2010 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

He was born in Montgomery, VT on Nov. 1, 1925 the son of Homer and Pearl (Bressette) Wetherby and had resided in Charlestown since Sept. of 1951.   He was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army.

Mr. Wetherby retired as a superintendent from White Mountain Paper in Bellows Falls, VT where he worked for 31 years and later worked for the Town of Charlestown Cemetery Department for 2 years.

He was a life member of the Charlestown American Legion, the Charlestown Memorial VFW Post #8497 and the DAV Chapter #16 of Concord.  He was a communicant of All Saints Parish of Charlestown.

Mr. Wetherby enjoyed woodworking, making picture frames, toys, chests, wagons and rocking chairs.

The surviving family includes his wife, Louise Audrey (Demar) Wetherby of Charlestown whom he married on April 10, 1947; three daughters, Patricia J. Royce and her husband, Daryl and Joan D. Beaudry and her husband, Michael all of Charlestown and Terry A. Wetherby of Concord; one son, Duane G. Wetherby and his wife, Jean F. of Charlestown; eight grand-              

children; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Wendall Roy Wetherby of Milford, MA also several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by three brothers, Orville Wetherby, Carmi Wetherby and Donald Wetherby.

Friends may call at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main Street in Charlestown on Monday evening from 5 to 8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning, April 6th at Ten O’clock in St Catherine of Siena Church in Charlestown with Rev. Father Michael E. Gendron, Pastor, officiating.

Interment with full military honors will follow in St Catherine of Siena Cemetery.
