Howard A. Slack, 82, of Hillside Terrace,
formerly of 4 Briggs Street in Claremont, died Wednesday morning, July
7, 2010 at the Glencliff Nursing Home in Benton, NH. He was born in Claremont, NH on August 10, 1927 the son of George and Juliette A. (Leinker) Slack and had resided in Claremont most of his life. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the US Army. Mr. Slack worked doing body work at Howe Motors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. The surviving family includes his wife, Cynthia (Shute) Slack of Claremont whom he married on August 30, 1957; two sons, Allen Slack and Richard Slack both of Claremont; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Florence Woodman, June Fleury and Marilyn Hood all of Claremont and numerous nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by two daughters, Pamela Peaslee and Susan Doran; four sisters, Dorothy Slack, Ethel Daddona, Hazel Whipple and Alice Schultz and four brothers, Herbert Slack, Kenneth Slack, Clifton Slack and Raymond Slack. Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral Services will be held Friday afternoon, July 9th at One O'clock at the Funeral Home with Pastor Kurt Jenson of My Fathers House of Ministries in Newport, officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Center Cemetery. |
