Dr Kenneth N Staples passed away Thursday morning due to complications from cancer.  Dr Staples has been an active member of the community and a practicing Veterinary in Claremont  since 1947. Dr Staples was raised on a farm in southern Maine; animals were his passion not just his vocation.  The welfare of the animals in his care were always his primary concern.  He was a graduate of Middlesex University (now Brandis).  Dr Staples has been honored with a Paul Harris fellowship, by  the Vermont State Police,  Rotary and various other civic organizations.  He was the oldest practicing Veterinary in the State of NH for several years and held in high regard.

Dr Staples is survived by his wife of 63 years,  Zita Staples, his sons Scott and Jeffery Staples, his daughters,  Marcia Staples Couitt and Johanna Regan.  Dr Staples left 10 loving grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was anxiously anticipating his fifth and sixth great grandchildren.

He was well loved in the community and will be sorely missed by all.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont on Sunday afternoon, August 15, 2010 from 1 to 3PM.
