Lawrence Edward Gobin, 59, of Claremont, NH died Wednesday November 24, 2010 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He was born on July 9, 1951 in Claremont, NH the son of Clayton W. Gobin and Simone L. Houle and resided in Claremont and Newport most of his life. He worked for Jiffy Mart as a cashier, Friendly’s Restaurant in West Lebanon and for Sylvania in Hillsborough. Larry was a member of the Marion Phillips Tenants Association, a former member and president of the Newport Lake Sunapee Jay Cees, a member of the Claremont and Newport Moose and the Foresters of America. The family includes his mother of Claremont, three sisters, Rebecca St. Pierre of North Charlestown, Mary Freeman of Hillsboro and Donna Gobin of Lempster; two brothers, William Gobin of Newport and Robert Marvin of Lempster; three step–sisters, Betty Gagnon of Tennessee, Patricia Frye and Debra Thibodeau both of Newport; also many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, his step father, Leon Houle and three brothers, Michael Gobin, Terry Gobin and Gary Gobin. Funeral services will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home at 146 Broad Street, Claremont, NH on Monday morning, November 29th at Eleven O’clock with Rev. Father Stanley J. Piwowar, officiating. Visiting hours will be held one hour prior to the funeral service from 10-11 AM. Burial will be held privately at a later date in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Newport. |
