Leatrice Theresa Rheaume, 83, of Cornish died at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 surrounded by her family.

She was born Leatrice Theresa Ladieu on June 16, 1927 in Highgate, VT, the only daughter of Clarence and Viola (West) Ladieu.  She married Leo A. Rheaume on September 28, 1954. Her and her husband raised eight children.  They lived in several parts of Vermont including Swanton, Sheldon, Shoreham, St. Albans and Perkinsville.  Leatrice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She liked to do needle point, crossword puzzles and loved spending time with her family.  She enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Bruins on tv. 

She is survived by her husband of nearly 56 years; six sons: Dale and wife Pauline, Cornish, NH, with whom she had lived with for the past year, Marc and wife Holly, Weathersfield, VT, Terry and wife Kathi, Claremont, NH, Steven and wife Kim, Springfield, VT, Bruce and wife Tammy, Enosburg Falls, VT, Bryan, Colchester, VT; two daughters, Karen Marshall and her husband Steven, Georges Mills, NH, and Lori Rheaume, Essex Jct, VT.  She had nineteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She has three surviving brothers, Norman and wife Theresa Ladieu, Pensicola, FL, Lyle and wife Janice Ladieu, St, Albans, VT, and Roger and wife Connie Ladieu, Murrells Inlet, SC; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is predeceased by her parents and a brother, Arnold, who was a toddler.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home on 146 Broad Street, Claremont, NH, on Sunday evening August 22nd from 6 to 8 PM.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Saint Joseph Church on Elm Street in Claremont, Monday morning, August 23rd at 11 am with Father Stanley Piwowar officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall.  Burial will take place at a later date. 

The family suggests that donations be made in her memory to a church of one’s choice.
