Leland Arthur Judd, Sr., 68, formerly of 243 Broad St., in Claremont, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at the Sullivan County Health Care. He was born in Newport, VT on April 1, 1941 the son of Leland and Helen (Judd) Laraway and was raised by his grandparents, Arthur Albert and Grace Mae (Wheeler) Judd. He had resided in the Charlestown and Claremont area most of his life. Leland was a tractor trailer driver for Hartland Express of Coralville, Iowa where he drove an 18 wheeler for twenty-three years and retired in 2000 and was also a licensed umpire and police officer. He was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Jaycees. The surviving family includes his wife, Carol Ann (Stearns) Judd of Charlestown whom he married on June 20, 1962; six children, Mary Pat Fox of Chicago, IL, Laurelee Judd, Debra Dings and Renee Richards all of Charlestown, James A. Judd of Claremont and Timothy M. Judd of Apopka, FL,; nineteen grandchildren; nine great-grand-children; one sister, Mrs. Glen Phyllis (Hedges) Clabough of Knoxville, TN.; one half brother, Gary Allen of Southwick, MA. and a nephew, William G. Clabough of Knoxville. He was pre-deceased by a son, Leland “Skip” Judd, Jr. who died Jan. 17, 2010 and a brother, Robert L. Bowen in April of 2004. There are no visiting or funeral services. |
