Mary Mildred Robar, 98, formerly of Sugar River Drive and Myrtle Street in Claremont, died Friday morning, February 26, 2010 at the Sullivan County Health Care.

She was born in New Ross, NS Canada on December 8, 1911 the daughter of William and Mary Hiltz and had resided in Claremont since 1969.

She was employed for twelve years as a nurse’s aid at the Claremont General Hospital and Integrated Health Services.

She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, the Rebecca Lodge in Nova Scotia and the Woodbury Rebecca Lodge #62 of Claremont.

She was the widow of Norman Russell Robar whom she married on April 25, 1940 and he died November 6, 1994.

The surviving family includes one son, Norman Gordon Robar of Concord, NC; one daughter, Carolyn Ann Miller of Fredericton, NB Canada; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 6th at Eleven O’clock in the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont with Rev. Canon Marthe F. Dyner, Rector of the Union Episcopal Church, in West Claremont, officiating. 

Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 10 to 11 prior to the services on Saturday.  Interment will be in May in the Dayspring Cemetery in Bridgewater, NS Canada.
