Mildred Lurietta Lawlor, 91, previously of Twin Maples Park, Charlestown, died Friday morning December 10, 2010 at Elm Wood Center in Claremont. She was born in Ryegate, VT on July 15, 1919 the daughter of Elbert and Bessie (Adams) Blodgett. She had resided in Charlestown since 1973 and had previously lived in Rockingham, VT. She graduated from Bellows Falls High School and attended Thompson Nursing School. She was a LPN and had worked in several nursing homes and also did private duty nursing. Mrs. Lawlor was a member of the Charlestown Senior Club and the Charlestown Congregational Church. She is the widow of her first husband, Kenneth King who died in 1967 and her second husband, John G. Lawlor, Sr. whom she married in 1975 and he died in 1988. The family includes one daughter, Louise Mattson of Claremont and Sebring, FL; one son, Richard King of Keene; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by one son, Edward King, two brothers and four sisters. Graveside services will be held privately in the Saxtons River Cemetery in Saxtons River, VT. A memorial service will be held at a later date in the spring.
