Norman L. Francis Witham, 93, of Lempster, NH, died Tuesday, afternoon, August 31, 2010 at the Valley Regional Hospital.

He was born in Portsmouth, NH on July 17, 1917 the son of Albert F. and Cora E. (Hodgdon) Witham.

He had resided in Lempster for the past 46 years.

Norman had retired in 1982 from Glouster Engineering in Newport, NH where he had worked as a machinist for 42 years, previously he had worked for Cone Automatic in Windsor, VT and for the US Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, NH.

Norman was a member of the Knights of Columbus Third Degree.

He was predeceased by his wife Marcelle Rita Marquis (Arsenault) Witham who he married on January 20, 1962 and she died on October 23, 2006.

The family includes one sister, Phyllis Laporte of Enfield, NH; two nieces, Catherine Nelson of West Lebanon and Anne Laporte of Enfield, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary Church with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor, officiating on Wednesday, September 8^th at Eleven O’clock in the morning.

Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Claremont, NH.
