Richard Carl Marro, 82, of Pleasant Street in Claremont, died Friday, August 13, 2010 at the Elm Wood Center of Claremont.

He was a native and life long resident of Claremont, NH born on January  20, 1928 the son of Anthony C. and Blanche (White) Marro.  Family and friends knew him as” Dick”.  He enjoyed dancing in his younger days, loved to sing and had a wonderful tenor voice.

Dick was a member of the Claremont Assembly of God Church and later the Bellows Falls Assembly of God Church.

He attended schools in Claremont and was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army.

Dick worked as a projectionist at the Latchis and Magnet Theaters, as a salesman for Merit Clothing Company, on a sales route for Guimond Farms and retired from Pine Tree Castings in 1993 where he worked in heat treating.

Dick was fond of poodles and shared his affection with three over his life time, Happy, Pierre and Buffy.

He is survived by the love of his life, Dorcas Lorraine Boone of Claremont whom he married in 1949 and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth H. Brooks.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning, August 17th at Eleven O’clock in the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont with Rev. Donald Hashem, former Pastor of the Bellows Falls Assembly of God Church, officiating.  Interment with full military honors provided by the American Legion Post #29 of Claremont will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Tuesday morning from 9 to 11 AM prior to the services.
