Rita J. Come, 101, formerly of Cottage Street died Friday February 12, 2010 at Valley Regional Hospital. She was born in Sherbrooke, PQ, Canada on July 7, 1908 the daughter of William and Anna (Bilodeau) Gilbert. Her family moved to the United States when she was four and she went to the North Street School in Claremont. Rita worked in the cotton mills until she married James in 1928 just shortly after World War II and became a United States Citizen. Rita and James lived for sixty-eight years in Wells River, VT. She was preceded in death by her husband James A. Come in 1991. The family includes two sons; Charles E. Come and his wife, Yvonne of Claremont and James A. Come, Jr. and his wife, Marilyn of Charlestown. six grandchildren, Debra Lathrop, Linda Perron, Leslie Minckler, Charles Come Jr., Daryl Cady and James K. Come, also several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. A graveside committal service for Rita J. Come, 101, formerly of Cottage Street who died Friday, February 12, 2010 will be held Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 2PM in St. Patrick Cemetery in Newport, NH.
