Ruby V. Magoon, 83, of Twistback Road, Claremont, died Saturday morning,
January 16, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Exeter NH on October 4, 1926 the daughter of Ernest and Georgie (Day) Flanders and resided in Cornish Flat, NH for thirty five years before moving to Claremont.
In the mid 60's, she and her husband Chester owned and operated C &R Market in Cornish Flat, NH.  Ruby retired in Oct 1986 as Postmaster of the Cornish Flat U.S. Post Office.  She was an avid gardener, enjoyed traveling and spending their winters for thirty plus years in Florida.
Ruby was widowed by Chester Magoon on October 4, 2005 whom she married
October 13, 1943. 

The Family includes two Sons, Russell Magoon and his wife Cheryl of Claremont and Robert Magoon and his wife Brenda of North Thetford, VT;  two daughters, Nancy Carver and her husband David of Claremont and Jean Gross and her husband Fred of Windsor,VT;  nine grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by a grandson Jeffrey Balch in 1972 and three brothers Leslie, Gerald and Russell Flanders.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 20th at Eleven O'clock at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, with Rev. Pastor Scott Kearns of the First Baptist Church officiating. 

Friends may call Tuesday evening, January 19th from 6 to 8 pm.                   

Burial will be held Saturday April 17, 2010 at 11 AM at the Wells Cemetery in Canaan, NH.
