Virginia Mary Raymond, 77, of Raymond Place, Claremont, NH died Sunday evening, November 7, 2010, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Bristol, NH on November 11, 1932 the daughter of Samuel R. Clow and Nellie May Blanchard Jones and had resided in Claremont most of her life. She married Roy Paul Raymond on February 26, 1949 and he died on February 11, 1984. She had worked as a nurses aid and did private duty nursing for the Barrows family in Plainfield, Cedar Manor in Windsor, VT, Woodlawn Nursing Home in Newport and at Integrated Health Services in Claremont. She also took care of her son Rodney, who was paralyzed, for twenty-one years. Members of her surviving family include three sons, Alan R. Raymond of Perkinsville, VT, Stephen P. Raymond of Claremont and Roy P. Raymond, Jr. of Claremont; three daughters, Bonnie E. Boardman of Claremont, Linda M. Duquette of Claremont and Cathy J. Raymond of Manhattan, NY; five brothers, Edward Clow of Stanton, CA, Thomas Clow of Weare, Robert Clow of Claremont, Frederick Clow of Etna and David Clow of Lempster; two sisters, Carolina Gordon of North Springfield, VT and Muriel Ann Kempton of Claremont; twenty grandchildren; thirty-eight great grandchildren; three great- great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, a son, Rodney Edward Raymond on March 8, 1997, an infant daughter, Marylee Raymond and a brother, Henry Daigle. Visiting hours will be Thursday, November 11, 2010 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad St., Claremont, NH. Funeral services will be Friday at Ten O’Clock in the morning at the funeral home with Rev. Priscilla Hull officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery, Claremont, NH.
