Wayne Harold Bean, 68, formerly of Lincoln Heights, Claremont died Wednesday morning February 24, 2010 at the home of his daughter in Claremont, surrounded by his family after a battle with cancer.

He was born in Woodsville, NH on May 16, 1941 the son of Harold and Anita (Huse) Bean and had resided in Claremont since 1961.

He was a graduate of Bradford Academy.

Wayne was a Veteran of the National Guard from 1958-1965. He had worked as a plumber for Marro Plumbing & Heating, City Plumbing & Heating, Limoges Oil Company and lastly was self employed for several years retiring in 2005.

Wayne enjoyed cooking, hunting, fishing and camp in Pittsburg, NH.

He was a thirty-two year member of the Elks and was instrumental with the start of the Copper Cannon program at the Elks.

He was also a former member of the VFW in Littleton.

The family includes two daughters, Bonnie Winot, Marsha Fowler and her husband Kenneth both of Claremont; one sister, Evelyn Gorham of Florida; four grandchildren, Rachel Winot, Hillary Winot, Jacob Fowler, Jaclynn Fowler; one niece, Debbie Miller and one nephew, Kevin Gorham.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street on Friday evening February 26th from 6 to 8 PM with an Elks service at 7:30.

Funeral Services will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home on Saturday, February 27th at 10 AM with Rev. Priscilla Hull, officiating.

Interment will follow in Union Cemetery with military honors provided by the Claremont American Legion Post# 29

A reception will follow at the Elks Lodge.
