William Charles Murdoch, 62, of Happy Acres in Charlestown, died Thursday morning August 5, 2010 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Kearny, NJ on January 22, 1948, the son of Eleanor Willis Murdoch Schultz and William Kirkwood Murdoch and the stepson of William R. Schultz.

Bill graduated from St. Benedict’s Preparatory School in 1966. He attended Seton Hall University and graduated from Windham College in Putney, VT.

Bill’s work career was varied.  He was a self-employed shop keeper, real estate salesman, educational assistant, counselor and machinist.  His last working years were spent in the care of elderly parents.  Bill was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He leaves his wife of forty years, Mary Ann Harris Murdoch; his son, Eric Charles Murdoch and his wife Susan; his mother Eleanor.  He also leaves six grandchildren, Jason, Ryan, Michael, Joseph, Sarah and Rachel Murdoch.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 9^th, at 11AM in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Ascutney, VT.

Visiting hours will be from 10 to 11 AM prior to the service at the Church.

Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Claremont, NH.

A reception will be held in the church hall.
