William James “Bud” Hennessey, Jr., 91, a former resident of Trumbull, CT, and recently living with his daughter in Charlestown, NH, passed over Thursday morning October 7, 2010 at Springfield Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born in Bridgeport, CT on Sept. 8, 1919 the son of William J. and Anne V. (Gerrity) Hennessey, Sr. and resided in Trumbull, CT for 46 years.

Bud was a veteran of World War II and was a member with the Seabees.

He retired in 1985 from Bud’s Grocery Store which he owned and operated in Stratford, CT and had previously been a trouble shooter for Avco Lycoming in Stratford and had worked for Bullard Company in the Salvage Dept in Fairfield, CT.

He was a communicant of St Theresa Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was the widower of Helen (Throp) Hennessey whom he married on Nov. 29, 1941 and she died April 29, 1994.

He is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann Gagliardi of Charlestown, NH.

Visiting hours will be held at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main Street, Charlestown, NH on Monday evening October 11th from 6 to 8 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Morning, October 12th at 10AM in St Catherine of Siena Church with Rev. Michael Gendron, Pastor Officiating.  Burial will be Wednesday afternoon, October 13th at 1pm in Long Hill Burial Grounds in Trumbull, CT.
