Mrs. Carol A. Bashaw, 71, of Twin Maples, Charlestown, NH, died Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the Dartmouth- Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH of a sudden illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Hanover, NH on May 29, 1939 the daughter of Russell and Vivian (Ayers) Blair and had been a long time resident of Charlestown. Carol worked for Whitney-Blake in Bellows Falls, VT and Bomar in Charlestown, NH. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family includes four daughters, Debra Bemis and her husband Kenneth of Gordonsville, VA, Peggy Bascom and her husband John, Marie Tenney and her husband Michael and Tammie Neilsen and her husband Larry all of Charlestown; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Blair of Springfield, VT and Ronald Blair of Kamiah, Idaho; a half brother, Russell Blair of Cavendish, VT; two sisters, Karen Howard of Chester, VT and Sue Crowley of Springfield, VT; two half sisters, Nancy Wettach of New Mexico and Cathy Gosselin of Springfield, VT; also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by her husband Allen W. “Laggie” Bashaw on January 26, 2001, one daughter, Allena Martin on August 17, 2009 and two brothers, Gordon Blair in 2004 and David Blair in 2004 Friends may call at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main St. Charlestown, NH on Tuesday evening, February 8th from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 9th at 11 O’clock in the Charlestown Congregational Church, Main St. Charlestown with Rev. Susan Grant Rosen, Pastor, officiating. A reception will follow at the Charlestown Senior Center. A graveside committal service will be held Saturday, May 28th at 11AM in the Pine Crest Cemetery in Charlestown with Rev. Susan Grant Rosen, Pastor, officiating.
