Adam Bjorn Maki, 47, of Hartford Street, Claremont, NH died Thursday evening, August 18, 2011 at his home after a courageous 10 month battle of pancreatic cancer. He was born in Norwalk, CT on January 9, 1964, the son of Arvi and Kirsten Maki. Adam was a 1983 graduate of Stevens High School and had a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering. He had served in the Army Reserves from 1982-1985 and in the National Guard from 1985-1988. Adam was employed with Agile Planet as a product manager in software development. He had previously worked for Tambrands/Proctor & Gamble and Rockwell Automation. Adam was a loving husband, father, brother and friend and will be greatly missed. The family includes his wife, Sarah (Schnyer) Maki whom he married on August 10, 1985; three children, Laura Maki of Jacksonville, IL, SPC. Andrew Maki of Claremont, Julia Maki of Claremont; two brothers, Michael Maki of Claremont, NH, Eric Maki of Wentworth, NH; two sisters, Susan Minckler of Big Bay, MI and Kristina Maki of Brookline, NH, also several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to our community and beyond for its generous support during this difficult time. They also appreciate the wonderful staff at Norris Cotton Cancer Center at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and Connecticut Valley Home Care/Hospice. A celebration of life will be held at Arrowhead Recreation Area, Claremont, NH on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Eleven O’clock in the morning with Pastor David Crosby, officiating. A reception will follow. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Adam’s memory to Arrowhead Recreation Area, C/O Goodwin Community Center, 130 Broad Street, Claremont, NH 03743. |
