Aldea O. Fowler, 84, of Osgood Avenue, died Sunday evening, December 4, 2011 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.

She was native and life long resident of Claremont, NH born on April 26, 1927 the daughter of George E. and Aldea O. (Collin) Morse.

She was a graduate of Charlestown High School in 1945 and Keene Teachers College in 1949. 

Aldea had taught in Richmond, NH School District and later at Claremont School District where she had taught 2nd and 3rd graders at North Street School for 16 years and retired in 1982.  She had previously worked at Windsor Products in Kellyville for 4 years.

Aldea was a member and organist of the Church of Nazarene, a member of the Sullivan County Teachers Association, North Street School PTA, Bluff School PTA, West Terrace School PTA, Way School PTA, Sugar River Grange and North Charlestown 4-H Club.

She is the widow of Harris L. Fowler, whom she married on November 20, 1954 in St. Johnsbury, VT and he passed away on April 5, 1994.

The surviving family includes two sons, Bruce L. Fowler of Claremont, Bradley A. Fowler of Newport; three daughters, Beverly M. Smith and her husband, Leonard of Claremont, Brenda Fowler of Concord, Bertha L. Pitts and her husband, Michael of Pyrites, NY; one brother, Emery N. Morse and his wife Joann of Ascutneyville, VT; one sister, Alice Arnold and her husband, George of Springfield, VT; twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was pre-deceased in death by one sister, Christabel Morse in 1942.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday evening, December 7th from 6-8 PM at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, NH.

Funeral Services will he held Thursday morning at Eleven O’clock at the North Charlestown Methodist Church with Pastor Patricia Wells, officiating.

Burial will follow in West Claremont Burying Grounds.
