Anne Elizabeth Gibbs, 73 of Madison Place in Claremont, NH died on June 9, 2011 at her home.

She was born in Wendall, Massachusetts on December 15, 1937 the daughter of Fred and Eunice (Clark) Gibbs.

Anne lived an adventurous life. As a young woman she lived in Keene, NH where she worked in an Insurance office before moving to Boston. While living in Boston, she began what became a very successful singing career. She then traveled to Florida, New York and also traveled with the USO entertaining troops overseas including Greenland which was one of her favorite trips. A highlight of her career was the opportunity to meet and become friends with the great Tony Bennett. Later Anne moved to Rochester, NY where she was an editor for a newspaper before she moved on to Seneca Falls, NY, where she owned and operated a bar & restaurant called “Filthy McNasty’s”, a wonderful fun place located on a canal on the Finger Lakes. Finally she worked at Foxwood Casino in Connecticut where she dealt several different card games.

Anne was a very friendly person with her infectious laugh she loved people and made friends everywhere she went. She will be missed by family and friends and her two beloved felines Yellow Boy and Inkey.

She is survived by two sisters, Sherrie Curtis and Barbara Lawrence; one nephew, Donald M. Woodman; three nieces, Julie Woodman, Naomi Barry and Carrie Chessman; also several grandnieces and grandnephews.

A graveside service will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Winchester, NH on June 25th at 11:00AM.

In lieu of flowers, because of her love for all animals, a donation may be made in her name to an animal rescue or shelter of one’s choice.
