Arthur R. Baron, 88, of Claremont, died Sunday Morning, March 27, 2011 at Valley Regional Hospital. He was born in Claremont, NH on January 27, 1923 the son of Alfred and Evelina (Descoteau) Baron and resided most of his life in Claremont before moving to Largo, Florida in 1980 then returned to Claremont in 2008. He served in the 1874th Army Engineers, US Army in World War II. Arthur retired from Joy Manufacturing Company after thirty- three and one half years and worked for Belfon Tool part-time. He was a member of the Local Union #2944 AFL-CIO, a life- time member of the American Legion Post #29 and the Knights of Columbus Council #1820. In the late 50’s and early 60’s, he was a director of the St. Mary Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps. The family includes his wife, Dorothy (Osgood) Baron of Claremont; one son, Robert G. Baron and his wife, Jacqueline of Claremont; one daughter, Linda S. Haeseler and her husband, Richard of New Port Richey, FL; two grandchildren, Tamitha Perry and Thomas Baron; four great-grandchildren, Samantha and Brandon Perry, Tyler and Tucker Baron; one brother, George Baron of Milton, VT; and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by three brothers, H. Victor Baron, Norman Baron and Leo Baron and one sister, Bernadette Theroux. Calling hours will be held Tuesday evening, March 29th from 6 to 8 pm at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 30th at 10:00 AM in St. Mary Church with Rev. Fr. Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Claremont with military honors by the US Army and Claremont American Legion Post #29. |
