David Michael Johnson, 44, died suddenly at his home in Merrimack, NH.

He was born in Claremont, NH on June 5, 1967 to Hal Johnson and Elsie (Prozzo) Papa.

David attended St. Mary’s School and was a 1985 graduate of Stevens High School.

He had worked for Hal Johnson Photography and then became a member of the Claremont Police Department.  He served eight years with the Claremont Police Department from September of 1988 thru August of 1996.  He graduated from the 85th Session of the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council on March 17, 1989.

During his tenure he received the following Commendations and Awards; Duty Citation Medal – August of1989, Meritorious Service Award – December of 1990, Letter of Outstanding Actions – November of 1993,

Honorable Service Award – November of 1993, Good Conduct Medal - November of 1994, Combat Cross – May of 1996, Negotiators Cross – May of 1996.

He was predeceased by his, wife Marilyn (Parrotto) Johnson in 2010.

The surviving family includes his mother, Elsie Papa and her husband, Joe of West Palm Beach, FL; his father, Hal Johnson and his wife, Wendy of Claremont; one sister, Brenda Jennings of Franklin, GA; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Eleven O’Clock in the morning, with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor of St. Mary’s Church, officiating.

Visiting hours will be held from 10-11AM prior to the service.
