Edith I. O’Brien, 92, of Claremont, NH, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, December 12, 2011, at Valley Regional Hospital.

She was born in St. Johnsbury, VT on March 26, 1919, the daughter of Fred and Ella (Corliss) Champany.  She was a long time resident of Claremont and previously lived in Hanover.

Edith was a member of the Lion’s Club.

The surviving family includes her husband, Samuel  F. O’Brien of Claremont whom she married in 1939; one daughter, Sylvia Rodriguez of Dracut, MA; two sons, Donald O’Brien of Hopkinton and Robert O’Brien of Newport; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.   There were also four sisters and one brother.

There are no visiting hours.

A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Interment will be in Mt View Cemetery, Claremont, NH.
