Elizabeth Mary Chase, 48, of Plain Hill Road, Springfield, VT, died peacefully, Wednesday morning, October 5, 2011, at home surrounded by her family. Elizabeth was born in Natick, MA on March 15, 1963, the daughter of Edward A. and Anne M. (Goff) Johnson. In 1980, she moved to Springfield, VT with her parents and graduated from Springfield High School in 1981. She was graduate of New England School of Hair Design and worked in Springfield, VT her entire career having owned and operated Elizabeth ’s Classic Designs. She loved her job, especially her clientele. She wanted to be remembered as a great hairdresser. Elizabeth could bring a smile to anyone’s face; she had a great sense of humor and was always more concerned about others rather than herself. Summer was her favorite time of year, she spent time with family on Cape Cod and Lake Sunapee, swimming and boating were always high on her list. The family includes her high school sweetheart and husband of 26 years, Douglas M. Chase, whom she married on August 31, 1985; two sisters, Anne Marie Schermerhorn and her husband Jim of Dallas , TX , Alice Forbes and her husband Jim of Putnam Station, NY; her husband’s brother Terry Chase and wife Debbie of Charlestown, NH; 2 nieces, three nephews and two great nieces. A Memorial Liturgy will be held Saturday morning, October 15th at Eleven O’clock at St. Mary’s Church in Springfield , VT. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery in Claremont , NH .
