Ethel May Beaudry, 84, of Old Claremont Road, Charlestown, NH died Monday morning, September 12, 2011 at Valley Regional Hospital, Claremont, NH.

She was born in Unity, NH on September 18, 1926, the daughter of Glenn Max and Melvina Victoria (Stone) Gibson. She lived in Newport, Windsor, VT and Claremont and spent her last 58 years in Charlestown.

She married her husband, Gerard J. Beaudry on October 28, 1950 and he died July 9, 1994.

During World War II, she worked at Goodyear in Windsor, VT helping the war effort.  She worked at Shulins for 7 years and the Shoe Shop both in Claremont. She spent years working with her husband building the family business as well.

Ethel was a parishioner of St. Catherine’s Church in Charlestown and later St. Mary’s Church in Claremont.  She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary.

Her greatest achievement was her selfless love for her family and friends.  She loved caring and doing for others and seeing their joy and never asking for anything for herself.  Her kindness and love will be greatly missed by all.

Her surviving family includes her children, Robert Beaudry and his wife, Jane, Paul Beaudry and his wife, Deborah, Victoria Beaudry and her partner, Gerald Stetson all of Charlestown; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother, Leonard Gibson and his wife, Norma; nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Donna Marie Beaudry on October 29, 1956 and brothers, Elwin, Lloyd, Earle, Robert “Bob”, Clarence “Pat”, Charles “Howard” and Richard.

Visiting hours will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, NH on Thursday, September 15th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 16th at Eleven O’clock in St. Mary Church, Claremont  with Rev. Fr. Shawn Therrien, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Charlestown.  A reception will follow at the VFW on Lover’s Lane, Charlestown.
