Jacqueline L. Baron, 62, of Pheasant Lane, Claremont, NH fought a valiant battle against two cancers, Leukemia and a Brain Tumor, and succumbed to them on July 2, 2011.  She was surrounded by her family at her passing.

She was born on January 19, 1949 in Manchester, NH, the daughter of Alcide L. and Yvette C. (Chagnon) Gilbert and had resided in Goffstown and Newbury prior to returning to Claremont. She attended St. Mary Grammar School and was a graduate and valedictorian of St. Mary High School in the class of 1967.

Jackie was a volunteer parent at St. Mary Elementary School and a Competency Testing Coordinator for the Claremont School District.

At Saint Anselm College she worked as an Administration Assistant at the Campus Ministry Office, a Continuing Nursing Education Conference Coordinator and a Data Specialist in the College Advancement Office.

She was currently an Administrative Assistant in the Parts Dept. e-bay Sales of Lambert Auto Sales.

Jackie was a communicant of St. Mary’s Parish where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lecturer.  She was a member of Court Virgil H. Barber No. 892, Catholic Daughters and the Ladies of St. Anne Society.

She was a member of the St. Mary’s Cavaliers as a Flag Bearer and Color Guard.

Jackie enjoyed doing things for others and her family and touched many lives.  She was an organizer, planning and directing many events for the churches in Claremont and Goffstown.  She had a deep abiding faith in God and His church and passed that on to her family.  She loved to travel and enjoyed several cruises with her husband in recent years.

Members of her surviving family include her husband, Robert G. Baron of Claremont, whom she married on July 4, 1968; a daughter, Tamitha L. Perry and her husband, Mark, of Claremont, NH; a son, Thomas R. Baron and his wife, Julie, of Sunapee, NH; four grandchildren, Samantha E. Perry and Brandon R. Perry both of Claremont; Tyler Baron and Tucker Baron both of Sunapee, NH; three brothers, Robert Gilbert of Merrimack, NH, Dr. Eugene Gilbert of North Royalton, OH and Michael Gilbert of Claremont, NH; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was pre-deceased by a brother Ronald Gilbert.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 6th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church on Thursday morning, July 7th at 11:00AM, with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery in Claremont.

Members of the Catholic Daughters will meet at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 7PM for a prayer service.
