John Baker, 76, a former long time resident of Claremont and Newport, and currently lived at 2 Dartmouth Street ,York Manor in Biddeford, ME and died at the Southern Main Medical Center in Biddeford, ME.

He was born in Claremont, NH on February 23, 1934 the son of Peter and Mary (Bacher) Baker.  John lived on Maple St., in Newport for 21 years and in Claremont most of his life.

He worked at Altama-Delta Shoe Company for several years.

The surviving family includes a son, Robert Baker; a daughter, Patricia Little; a sister, Helen Leahy and her husband, Richard of Florida; a brother, George Baker of South Meriden, CT and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by two aunts, Helen Lovejoy and Victoria Bacher.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning, January 7^th at Eleven O’clock at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont.

Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral Home one hour prior to the services on Friday morning.
