Lee Clayton, 78, passed away on June 16, 2011 surrounded by his loving family after a two and a half year battle with cancer. Lee was born on May 21st, 1933 son of Mildred and Raymond Clayton. He graduated from Euclid High School in Euclid, Ohio. He then joined the Armed Forces and was a corporal in the Army. After being discharged from the military he owned and operated Clayton Printing. He married Judy White and had five children. In 1984 he moved to Claremont, New Hampshire where he owned and operated The Letter Man Press. He was in the printing business most of his life. He enjoyed golf, gardening, cooking, carving, the ocean, especially the coast of Maine and spending time with family. Lee was a member of the Claremont Country Club, The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and the American Legion. He had a great sense of humor and a zest for life. Lee is predeceased by his parents of Cleveland, Ohio, his son Christopher Clayton of Phoenixville, PA. The family includes his wife, Judy Clayton of Claremont. His children Clifford (Joanne) Clayton of Twinsburg, Ohio, Jeffrey Clayton of Kennett Square, PA, Catherine Luciani of Eastlake, Ohio and Caroline (Sean) Doran of Mentor, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Francine, Regina, Amanda, Brittany, Kristin, Courtney, James and Christopher. His stepchildren and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also two sisters, Joan Kloss of Eastlake, Ohio, and Lynne Clayton of Florence, KY. Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning, June 21st at Eleven O’clock in St. Mary’s Church with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor, officiating. A reception will follow at the Claremont Country Club.
