Maxine L. Cope, 86, formerly of Twist Back Road, Claremont died Tuesday morning January 11, 2011 at Hillside Terrace surrounded by her family.

She was born on January 3, 1925 in Lima, Ohio the daughter of Clifford and Eunice (Exline) VanDyke, one of twelve children.

She has resided in Claremont for over thirty years.

Maxine married Paul Elias Cope on June 18, 1943 and he died on February 12, 1993.

The family included one son, Paul Eugene Cope and his wife, Donna of Claremont; two grandchildren, Penny Cope and Ross Cope; four great-grandchildren, Vanessa Desharnais, Gene Desharnais Jr., Kristi Cope and Tiffany Cope; two great-great grandchildren, Gage Morin and Jacob Fernald.

Funeral services will be held Friday Afternoon January 14th at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont at 2PM with Rev. Pastor Scott Kearns of the First Baptist Church officiating.

Visiting hours will be held from 1 to 2 PM prior to the funeral service.
