Michael D. Moore, 69, of Stevens Street, Charlestown, NH died Tuesday morning, July 12, 2011 at his home after a short battle with cancer.  He was born on Dec.8, 1941 in Marianna, Ark. the son of Joseph and Lorene (Butler) Moore.  He graduated from Marianna High School in 1960 and Arkansas State University. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot during the Vietnam War with 2 tours of duty in South East Asia receiving 6 Air Medals.

He attended Colorado School of Mines in Denver, Colorado for gunsmithing.  He worked at Rugers  as an armor instructor.  He  worked for Micro Systems Management for several years doing computer work and then started his own business in 1997 and also did computer work for Precision Products in Canaan, NH. He belonged to the  Old Number Four Rod, Gun and Snowmobile Club and the Charlestown Memorial V.F.W. Post 8497 for many years.  He was an avid gardener and enjoyed shooting trap and skeet with his friends from the surrounding area.

    Michael is survived by his wife  of 39 years, Katherine A. (Marro) Moore, who he met while both were serving in the Air Force in Altus, Ok; one daughter, Kim Dearth and her husband Jeff, of Hilliard, Ohio; one grandson, Kirby Dearth and one granddaughter, Karly Dearth, both of Hilliard, Ohio;  one sister, Nancy Moore of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; one brother, Nelson Moore and his wife Tina of Jonesboro, Ark. He is also survived by  four brothers-in-law: Gene St. Clair of Denver, CO,  Nicholas C. Marro and his wife Arline, and Albert Marro and his wife Alberta, all of Claremont, NH and Paul Marro of Louisville, KY and six sisters-in-law: Gail Moore of Paragould, Ark. and  Madeline (Marro) Barbieri and Carmella (Marro) Tenney and her husband William all of Claremont, NH, Ann Marro of Pompano Beach, FLA, Roberta Marro  of Downers Grove, IL, and Cecile Marro of Topsham, ME;  and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins.

    He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Sondra Moore of Jonesboro, Ark. and Randall (Moore) St. Clair of Denver, CO. and one brother, Terry Moore of Paragould, Ark; and one sister-in-law, Marion Marro of Claremont, NH and five brothers-in-law: Tony Marro of Pompano Beach, FLA, Charles Marro of Aurora, CO, Joseph Marro of Topsham, ME, Dominic Marro of Compton, CA, and Peter Barbieri of Claremont, NH.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday morning, July 16, 2011 at the Stringer Funeral Home with Father Stanley J. Piwowar, officiating.  

Calling hours will be held one hour before the service for family and friends.

Burial will be at a later date.

    The family suggests that in lieu  of flowers that  donations may be made in Michael’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, Attn: Donor Services, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL. 32256
