Nancy Jeanne Fortin, 57, of South Street in Claremont, died Tuesday afternoon, April 12, 2011 at home with her family by her side. She was a native and a life long resident of Claremont, NH born on October 28, 1953 the daughter of Joseph “Nap” and Jeanette G. (Gendron) Fortin. She had graduated in 1971 from Stevens High School. Nancy served in the United States Air Force from 1972-1976 and the National Guard from 1980-1983. She worked in administrative support at Valley Regional Hospital for 30 years. Nancy was an avid quilter and enjoyed sewing, cooking, camping, she loved all technology especially her ipad and computers. The surviving family includes her husband, William Lyons of Claremont whom she married on November 2, 2001; her mother, Jeanette G. Fortin of Claremont; one daughter, Melissa J. Lyons-Bocash of Croydon; two grandsons, Dylan Bocash and Aaron Fellows; one granddaughter, Taylor Fellows; one brother, Ronald N. Fortin and his wife, Marie of Colorado Springs, CO; three sisters, Linda E. Weber and her husband, Richard of Escondido, CA, Nona A. Miller and her husband, Buck of Claremont, Debra E. Foster and her husband, Donald of Claremont; one sister-in-law, Kathy Fortin of Hampton, VA, several aunts and uncles. Nancy was a special aunt to all her nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Benny. She was pre-deceased by her father, Joseph “Nap” Fortin and one brother, Terry J. Fortin. A time of visiting will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, NH on Saturday afternoon, April 16th from 2 to 4 PM. Funeral services will be held privately.
