Philip Lincoln Rogers, 96, died Wednesday afternoon, November 16, 2011 at the home of his daughter on Country Club Drive in Manchester, NH. He was born in Claremont, NH on September 27, 1915 the son of James L. and Thersa (McAdam) Rogers. He lived in Claremont from 1938 to 1996 and resided in Manchester for the past fifteen years. Phil was a graduate of Windsor High School in the Class of 1934. Mr. Rogers retired in 1980 from Joy Manufacturing Company in Claremont where he worked as a tool maker/machinist for fifteen years. He had previously worked for Cone Blanchard in Windsor, VT, Fellows Gear Shaper and Bryant Grinder Corp. both in Springfield, VT. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1820 and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was the widower of Blanche Eva (Bedard) Rogers whom he married on Nov. 24, 1938 and she died Oct. 12, 2006. The surviving family includes one daughter, Patricia A. Webster of Manchester; two sons, Robert L. Rogers of Detour, MI and Richard J. Rogers of Titusville, FL; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Francis Rogers and James Rogers and two sisters, Patricia Rivard and Harriet Doukas. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning, Nov. 21, 2011at 11 in St Mary’s Church in Claremont with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery. Following the interment, a time of fellowship and refreshments will be held in St. Mary’s Gym. |
