Robert  Stanley  Bennett, of  Jones Road in Charlestown, NH, died Wednesday evening, August 17, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Nelson, NH on January 17, 1940 the son of Everett and Leola  (Crosby) Bennett.

He served in the US Air Force for four years.( 58-62)

He lived in Minnesota from 1962  to 1973 and resided in Charlestown since 1973.

Robert  worked from 1962 to 1973 as a lineman for Renville-Sibley Corp. Power Co in Minnesota, from 1973 to 1980 he worked for N.R. Beaudry as a master electrician, from 1980 to 1984 he was the co-owner of Bennett Brothers Building Services, from 1984- 1992 he was an electrician for Customized Structures Inc. and from 1985 until he retired in 2005 from  B & P Electric in Charlestown.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 53 and was a member and Past Master of Faithful Lodge #12 Masonic Lodge of Charlestown where he was awarded the Sullivan Medal for distinguished service.

The surviving family includes his wife, Patricia A. (Smith)  Bennett of Charlestown whom he married on Oct. 1, 1961; two sons, Michael A. Bennett and his wife Pamela of Charlestown and Todd M. Bennett and his wife Susan of Washington, ME; one daughter, Wendy A. Bennett and her friend Dave Smith of Windsor, CT and one brother, Marshall Bennett; four sisters, Marilyn Johnson, Beverly Berchum, Thea Bennett and Noreen Dutch. 

He was pre-deceased by one half  brother, Carl H. Bennett in 2009.

Friends may call at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main Street in Charlestown on Sunday evening,  August 21, 2011  from 4 to 6 PM.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Chapel on Monday afternoon at One O’clock with Rev. Priscilla Hull, officiating.

Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery.
