Robert Earl Black, Sr., born on May 15, 1928 passed away at his home on April 25, 2011. He was 82 years old. Mr. Black was a resident of Charlestown, NH for 15 years and a resident of Milford, CT for 30+ years. Mr. Black served on the USS Rochester for 4 years. He enjoyed photography, for which he won several awards, golf, model building, puzzle building and bowling. He is survived by his wife, Marion; one son, Robert E. Black Jr. of CT; one daughter, Cynthia Barrett of CT; two grandchildren, Jenna and Michael and one sister, Joan A Chadbourne of Milford, CT; four nephews and three nieces. He was pre-deceased by one son, Ronald P. Black and one brother, Harley S. Black. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Catherine’s Church, Main Street, Charlestown, NH at 11:00AM on Saturday morning, April 30th with Rev. Father Michael Gendron pastor, officiating. Arrangements are with the Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main Street, Charlestown, NH 03603. The family suggests that donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, Founders Affiliate, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005. |
