Samuel Keith Edgar, 76, of Center Road, Goshen, NH died suddenly Sunday, July 3, 2011 at his residence. He was born September 2, 1934 in Crawfordsville, Iowa, the son of William and Alice (Hott) Edgar and lived in Goshen for five years. He was in the US Air Force from October 1956 to August 1960 and served in England. He went to the University of Wisconsin and got his graduate work in Agricultural Science. He also went to Missouri State University and received his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. During his life he was employed as an Agricultural Manager, taught agriculture and math, worked as a loan officer and owned and operated a convenience store. He and his wife, Mary, bought houses, remodeled them and sold them. He loved to keep very busy, loved farming, gardening, taking his motorcycle out for rides and was in the process of building his bi-plane. Members of the surviving family include his wife, Mary J. (Gulbrandson ) Edgar of Goshen; his children, Al and Marcia Dixon of Fort Wayne, IN, Sharon and Donald Johanning of Moberly, MO, Debra and Dave Donavon of Columbia, MO and Douglas Edgar of Columbia, MO, Lisa and Mike Drewing of Unity, NH, Christie and Darrell Bowen of Windsor, VT, Cathie and Larry Smith of Hartford, VT and Angie and Stanley Harper of Amsterdam, MO; 22 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Hank and Mary Lou Edgar and James and Noy Edgar all of Crawfordsville, Iowa, Nancy and Ray Wombacher of Iowa City, Iowa, Pat and Kermit Jenkins and Ellen Waggoner of Washington, Iowa; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Linda. Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad St. in Claremont, NH on Friday, July 8th from 2PM to 3PM. A Funeral Service will be at 3PM with Pastor Donna Gage, officiating. |
