Sulo Richard Kanto, 81 of Kanto Road, in East Unity, NH died Friday September 30, 2011, at his home in his sleep.

 He was born in East Unity, NH the son of Eino Richard Kanto and Elvira Hilima (Koski) of Kanto Road.

 Sulo worked for many years as a Master Electrician for Tambrands of Claremont.  He also did some work on his own and taught an electrical class at the Vocational College in Claremont.

 He attended high school in Newport, NH served two years during the Korean War in the U.S. Army and attended the New Hampshire Technical College in Concord, NH. 

He married Joyce Penniman Brassaw of Claremont , NH on July 20, 1957.

 Sulo enjoyed fishing, cutting wood, taking a sauna, driving his four wheeler, having a cup of coffee with his friends or family and spending time with his dog “Buddy”

He loved his family, friends, and the farmhouse he lived in.  He was proud of his Finish Heritage and showed his “Sisu”  

 The family includes his daughter Kim Therrien and her husband William Therrien of Claremont.  His son Richard Kanto and his wife Carol of Claremont.  His grandchildren Gregory Therrien and his wife Lisa Therrien of Claremont.  Granddaughter Michelle Therrien of Claremont. Granddaughter Cally Kanto and Grandson Richard Kanto II of Claremont, and  Great Grandson Logan Sanborn of Claremont, NHStep grandchildren Candace, Cassidy and Cody Larison of Texas

 He was predeceased by his Father and Mother Eino and Elvira Kanto and a brother Taisto Kanto all of Unity, NH.

 In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Newport Senior Center  PO Box 387, Newport, NH 03773.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday October 16^th from 1PM – 4PM at the Newport Senior Center 76 South Main Street, Newport, NH 03773.
