Travis Alton Hurd, 37, of Key West, Florida, died unexpectedly Friday, December 2, 2011. He was born in Claremont, NH on September 5, 1974 the son of Rodney George and Wauneta Gail (Carpenter) Hurd. Travis worked for Captain Steve Magee on the “Ramerezi” doing charter fishing in the Keys and had previously worked for Hypertherm as a packer. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved baseball. The surviving family includes his parents, Rodney and Wauneta Hurd of Lempster; one brother, Adam Hurd and his wife, Jennifer of Westmoreland; one sister, Alexis LaValley; maternal grandmother, Ruth Ripley of Newport; three nieces, numerous aunts and uncles. A time of fellowship will be held at the Moose Lodge, 209 Broad Street, Claremont on Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 1-3 PM. The family wishes to thank the Unity Fire Department for their efforts, Friday morning.
